Aluminium Centered Honeycomb (Formerly Aerolam) Lightweight Support and Display
Aluminium Centered Honeycomb lightweight boards are rigid, strong, flat, ready made honeycomb panels used extensively in the aircraft industry because of their extreme rigidity and strength. These qualities make them an ideal support for heavy items such as mosaics, and large textiles. Other uses include linings and backings for paintings and showcases. |

Supplied as 2.44m x 1.22 m (8ft x 4ft) boards which can be bonded to form even larger sheets. There are two types - Aluminium Centered Honeycomb Board 620 having woven glass fibre reinforced epoxy skins and Hexlitte Board 220, having aluminium skins. Both contain a core of Aeroweb aluminium honeycomb of 83kg/m3 (5.4LB/ft3) nominal density.
